[ Going off her tone, it doesn't sound like she's suspicious or anything, but who knows what she's after. ]

[Easier than expected, but this always has the potential to go to horrible places when Chilton is involved.]

[ A beat. ]
After everything that's happened with the Hornets, attacks on the Swear-Ins, Crane... I've been debating operating a team here. Psychiatric evaluations are obviously an aspect of team building I can't do. I'm not qualified.
no subject
Why not? Demented people slip through even the best, most vigilant evaluations. If you're building a team, I agree, mentality is important. But so is following your gut. Is your gut telling you legitimate psychiatric evaluations are absolutely necessary?
[Will sounds like someone who isn't convinced they are a necessity. He's got an agenda here, too. Perhaps a more selfish one than usual, but oh well. Bite him.]

[ And then the team fell apart because they couldn't agree on their tactics. ]
Not that those that are sick or are dealing with some personal issues can't be an asset. [ Obsidian, Atom Smasher... they had plenty of them. They all do, it's kind of a package deal being a superhero. ] But with the proper evaluations, I don't have to worry too much about the government worrying about my vetting process.

You're not concerned about potential members refusing to join because of it?
no subject
I am, so I'd hope if this takes off that those I want on the team could put aside that discomfort.
There's only so much I can say, you know?
[ If she has to push, she's not afraid to do that. It's pushing too hard. ]
no subject
Yeah. [Yeah, he knows. He knows about screaming until he's blue in the face and it not meaning shit. So that leaves the next trail...] What did you want to know? About him. Since you called to ask, I assume you must have something on your mind.
no subject
[ She just wants to know if she's going to regret saying yes. Chilton cares about his patients' well-being, yes?
... yes?? ]
no subject
And...that's left a bad taste in your mouth?
[He needs more to work with, okay. Was she blinded by honesty? Was she blinded by not-nice honesty? Was his not-nice honesty taken as a flashing sign? He has to know which angle to go down before he dives in.]

If I'm to build a team, the decisions I make need to reflect well on me, too. I need people to trust me. [ She sighs. ] Not to mention, Chilton did wrongly paint someone as a suspect in Freddie Lounds's case.
[ "Wrongly". ]
no subject
He doesn't hesitate, just bluntly asks:]
So you're left feeling stuck between a rock and a hard place. Is that about right?
no subject
However, I'm assuming since I've never heard anything negative about his practice that he's not a bad guy. Just blunt, if anything.
[ A snort follows. ]
Anyone that isn't Crane is a major step up.
no subject
I wouldn't say that to him, if I were you. Unless you're intending to give him a heavy backhanded compliment.

[Will sounds approving of that, go figure.]
Did he tell you what was opportunistic about his offer? Or do you...was it obvious?
[Secure superhero as buddy seems like...well, an obvious and a good idea, can't fault the guy who gets blood and shit on his shoes more often than not.]

Better imPorts look as a whole, the better he looks for work.
no subject
[It's all in such a dull voice that when he lets out what's basically a vote of confidence (much to his internal displeasure), it may smack as abrupt simply because everything before has been so bleak.]
I'd say he fits your needs perfectly.
no subject
Seems like it.
Thanks for the input, then.

You're welcome. [uwu] Anything else?
no subject
Not at all. I appreciate your honesty, Will.
no subject
No problem. Hope your team pans out.
