[Guess who has absolutely no surprise this is the reason he's being contacted. Spoilers: it's Will. So, no tone change.]

I know who's responsible. I tried informing the De Chima PD and they wouldn't hear me out. I don't have proof and I understand how that sounds, but this kind of gas attack? I know of it from my world.

[ Well, a version of her world. Details. ]

[Ohoho. He takes a second, thinks of all the reassuring and neutral things he could say in response. Any idle near-coos that he's different from those other cops. But she already knows that, doesn't she? So in the end, he just goes with a direct, curious, hopeful:]

Who is it?

Jonathan Crane. He's known as "Scarecrow" in my world.

[Well now. Having Crane's office isn't such a gas anymore.]

Scarecrow. [Quiet, barely audible. To normal human ears, at any rate. Power Ears might pick up just fine, and pick up on the should've known quality.] Do you happen to know what powers he's equipped with? In this world, that is.

Unfortunately no. Scarecrow's never been a criminal I've had to deal with personally. He's from Gotham.

[ But here she is. He's her problem. He's everyone's problem now. ]

Nothing good, I imagine.

We used to be coworkers, Doctor Crane and I. I don't know his powers, either.

[Nice to be in the same boat with someone, at least?]

I believe you, for the record, but I'm not sure what can be done with the police...other than a head's up they can't walk away from this time. [Because his fake badge is from higher up, aw yeah.] Which I'll do immediately. You have any plans for yourself?

[ It's a relief someone does, imPort or no. ]

I've been up and down every corner of the city looking for Crane. Nothing. I wasn't anywhere near the campus when the attack went down, so he might have slipped out long before I arrived.

[ There's something else, though. ]

And I've had my hands sort of full. Someone I care about is missing.

[ No hesitation using that word. His comm ID is still active. He isn't responding to anyone. Therefore Superman is missing. ]

[He almost asks who, but even if he did, he still wouldn't get the Clark and Superman connection. Let's not beat that horse to death again.]

You have a lot on your plate, sounds like, and he has made this everyone's problem. Not just those who know of him from their worlds. [Like Clark, where is that guy. Beats horse.] You saw what was said on the Network not too long ago, didn't you? From an anonymous source. If no one blurts out his name there, I imagine that won't make it difficult for others to figure it out. Especially after his feature at the Swear-In before this.

[There does seem to be something close to offer in his tone, though. If you don't want to or won't, I will. That's his job, after all, as he'll tell Gogo in her hospital room later in the week. He's no Alana Bloom, can't buffer quite like she can, but he can play buffer as best he knows.]

[ Stop beating horses you fiend. ]

I'm sorry this happened in the first place. People should have been warned from the start.

[Puts women in them instead, then?]

Agreed. But we have time for that later. [Being sorry, being angry. Unless she is more powerful when fueled by anger, of course. Get super mad!] I assume you're going to focus on finding your missing person before Doctor Crane, is that right?

[ BANS YOU. ]

... I wouldn't put this person before catching Crane if he wasn't important. [ A beat. ] Superman. He's my cousin.

He hasn't answered any of his messages all weekend. Something's wrong.

[Superman talked to Jaime Reyes about Will once, he remembers that. Beats horse, is banned.]

Family's important. [UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE CENTURY] I'll do what I can with the police. If no one makes Doctor Crane's name known on the Network soon, I'll do it myself. And keep an eye out for your cousin, just in case. [A pause, like maybe he shouldn't get into it...but it's quick and polite and honest, so. Why not?] Thanks for bringing this to me, Power Girl. I know we haven't always gotten along, or shared the same opinions...but we're more effective working together, not against each other.

Was that everything?

Crane is dangerous. He's not the Crane from my world, but he's infamous. He's smart, too.

[ Chances are he's still carrying enough gas on him to harm others. There's no way he would run off unarmed.

She pauses, considering Will's words. ]

You're right. I say it's about time we put aside our differences. [ But... ] I'm still sorry I wasn't able to get justice for Freddie Lounds.

[ It's not the best time, but she needs to say it. ]

For now. I'm still on the lookout for Superman. The fact he's gone missing right before Crane's attack doesn't bode well.

[Justice for Freddie Lounds, still a strange thing to think about. At least, though, whoever did it never went onto brag, didn't attack a Swear-In in a similar manner to show off their ass. He doesn't say anything about how she's right, this is odd timing for someone with the name Superman to go missing. She's aware of that very clearly, no need to rub it in.]
