Fun fact: I was hallucinating and murderous thanks to Lucifer and I killed someone. Now, while I freely admit that younger, amoral shithead Dorian would own up to it, older less of a shithead Dorian knows what's what and hasn't killed in literal decades.
[ partly a big fat lie...he is less of a shithead but yeah, he's murdered some people back home, WHOOPS. ]
I need a character witness.

[Man, who hasn't murdered some people back home, right? That seems to be a near-constant here.
But Will wonders, briefly, if this is because Dorian and he have gotten close(r) in the past few months or because Will's job in law enforcement might be viewed as having some pull. Not only is his character witness someone he's dealt with frequently in friendly manners (he even brought Will's wife a hooker!), but he's working for the man, literally. Does Dorian see that as some surefire win? Fortunately, Will recognize the situation is a bit more dire than, say, bank robbing, so he keeps that to himself for the moment. Taking a life isn't a walk in the park.
Usually. Okay, fine, it shouldn't be a walk in the park.]
[ It's because Dorian wants Will to think that he trusts Will, he believes in Will, yeah Dorian did some bad things in the past, but he's changed, Will!!! can't you trust him?
spoilers: Will shouldn't. ]
The hearing's a week from Friday at the Maurtia Falls courthouse. I really owe you for this.
[Trusting people to be who they are is the sort of trust Will prefers. That blind faith in others some have tends to confuse Will on levels that Hannibal Lecter might find himself jealous about.]
I'll be there, and you don't owe me anything. If it goes well, we could make our trip out to Nando's after in celebration.
Brownie points and Nando's. One more question while we're at it: is anyone going to be there to testify against you? Or do you know? Is there anything I need to know other than what you've already told me?
If there would be anyone, it'd be Miles Edgeworth or Kitty Jones. I doubt Jones would show up, mostly because she's not a fan of the government (plus it seems she had a spat with Miles Edgeworth about what to do with me). I don't think Edgeworth would show up also, mostly because it was obvious to him I was hallucinating him as someone else.
Still, I'll drop him a line saying something like "sorry for trying to kill you, I was hallucinating, the devil literally made me do it, xoxo Dorian"
[Spoilers: he has like five paragraphs in his head of responses to the names Dorian throws at him. He just doesn't want to go there because it's not worth it. He's also not supposed to tell everyone the sort of ABSOLUTELY AWESOME shows Miles enjoys, so. Friendship is tough. :c]
I'll see you then, if there's nothing else. If anything crops up before that, you know how to reach me.
[Dorian will finally get to see Will in a sort of fancy suit for courting, ooh, sir, ooh. The last time anyone really got that was because they framed him for eating people ooh, Dorian, ooh, seduce your pet project further, swoon.]
