[No worries there, his job has had him getting calls from people he never spoke to before and people he didn't care for much. Getting a call out of nowhere isn't a bother, and his voice doesn't sound like this is an upset or unwelcome.]

How'd you guess? [She can't bite back the sarcasm, because of the nerves. But it's less at Will, and mostly in an "of course he's missing again" kind of way.]

[Because he's the only one I've ever served as an officer for, he thinks and dismisses. He figures that is actually a rhetorical question and answering it as if it isn't and he doesn't know as much is almost rude.]

I can tell that you he hasn't gone anywhere. If you were concerned the Porter or someone else snagged him, that's not what's happened. He's still around.

I do. He might be having issues with his communicator, or might not be looking at it, but he's safe.

[In a sense of the word safe, that is. Maybe not safe from himself, but the only real terror that can threaten in Will's bait shop is those tacky clothes or the crickets making a great escape.]

[And Ken found it easier to not ask Will for permission to do things, either. He just told him he was going to do something and as long as Will could get in contact with him, they were good to go. They didn't get along just because of their issues with human flesh consumption, surprise surprise.]

Ken's open about it, and if Will's served as his parole officer well enough they still keep in contact after...surely that speaks to Will being okay to discuss this with in some way, right?]
