There's only one thing that's come up that I'm not sure is related or not.

It's not about him, but someone else he's encountered.

He did. I happened to run into them, too...the one in Freddie's skin.

[Mood is starting to tank, though at least his aggravation and weariness is reasonably stemming from the insult of Freddie Lounds, dead and gone, being worn like a cheap suit...instead of Will knowing who it was and having to keep that under wraps.]

I don't think they're the one who killed her or...involved with whoever did, if that's the concern.

What happened?

I was at the shop late, taking care of some business when Freddie walked right by. Didn't believe it, so I ran out, and it was...her. Looked like her, sounded like her, spoke like her. Like she might if she'd been killed and was unable to remember who did it or how it happened.

[Their conversation isn't important (yes it is, but it doesn't need to be shared).]

Lasted ten minutes, fifteen tops. Thought she was going back to her place, you know? Found out whoever it was wasn't her later.

So they might not know.

[ Or was Will so surprised he blurted it out? ]

Oh, they know she was murdered. We discussed that.

Don't have any idea, no. Headed in the direction of government housing, as far as I could tell.

Huh... did Lounds live in government housing still?

Yes. Safer that way. Only one person who was in that house with her is still around now, though.

[Which is actually super unfortunate in the case of Doctor Dinosaur.]

Do you think this person means harm? I'd rather play it safe, but the fact is I don't know what this person wants or why they chose to impersonate Lounds.

[Which means he'll probably have to extrapolate on why someone would choose Lounds...he felt rather bad for Kate before, when he realized who the Freddie skin-bearer was. Now he's feeling the same for Power Girl. Wild goose chases everywhere.]

Freddie wasn't beloved by many, but she did have connections, and she had plenty of articles. They might have been interested in knowing who those were, finding what articles hadn't gotten published yet. I don't like that someone out there wore Freddie's skin, but thinking about it with a clearer head painted it in a less insulting and more tactical light.

[Which still hasn't made him like it any more, judging by his voice. Understanding doesn't mean he has to approve. You can understand the month of July is going to be really hot if you live in Florida because of where it is on the globe and how the sun just loves to shine right down, but that doesn't mean you have to like the sweltering, suffocating heat and the sweat rolling down your face.]

All this sneaking around doesn't sound right to me.

[ In her own experience, impostors and sneaky ones at that never were a good sign. She wants to be wrong on this one, though.

What did they say to you?

This was the first day of April, and I'd had an issue with a now former employee taking a good deal of the live bait to use as a prank. Freddie reminded me of the date and that You can't fault the opportunistic, Will.

[Delivered in the bitter tone of someone who is very used to looking back over words and realizing what they meant too fucking late.]

Also said she could look after herself, but...one stands out more than the other.

Was this in Heropa? Doc ran into her... them, around there as well. I've tried scouting the area, but no luck so far.

Heropa, yeah. If they can be Freddie...what's to stop them from being anyone else? Makes sense you wouldn't have any luck.

I haven't heard about Freddie being seen again, [Not really a lie.] so you might be right. I've thought it possible they considered it a different way to spend April fool's and when they found out how she left realized wearing her skin wasn't funny, too.

[A trickster or someone on a search. Or both. Or just Mary Watson who might be both in her own right but has made it clear to Will he's not to share details. So listing possibilities and being cooperative it is.]

Someone wearing another's face is mighty suspicious to me. Maybe they aren't dangerous, but it isn't right.

[ But she has her own personal hang-ups about look-a-likes and whatnot. ]

[Well...as long as Mary doesn't go into Freddie mode around Will from here on out, he's not totally lying with that one (how his pants aren't on fire is a mystery). Nothing much is "right" right now.]

[That actually sounds sincere, not him just striving to be polite. Their conversation wasn't the most pleasant, certainly not, but he's still right off his honeymoon and the good mood leftover is pretty difficult to kill without something extreme being pulled off. Good evenings for everyone!]
