[Well that sounds unpleasant, to say the least. One eyebrow lifts, no disbelief that it really happened, just not sure what to make of it, and why his hands? What did Winry do to stop that?]
I'll look back over it. [And take it all with less a grain of salt this time around. However, that leads to:] What he did to you, was that because of your connection to the same world, or would you say he's definitely a danger to everyone?
[Will's been involved in his own spats relating to his home world, it's good to be 100% clear.]
What he did to me was focused on things from our world but I suspect he is a threat to everyone here. If he follows the pattern he followed among my people, he could also lead us to be a danger to each other, especially among those who are less than fully cordial.
[Will is fortunate in the way that he has remarkable visual memory, can store details that others might miss, has no problem holding conversations for lengths of time and remembering them all. He's similarly unfortunate, because he realizes that, removed from his world, no one has the ability to know that just looking at him, or without being told. So he pauses for a second to pull out a pad of paper and pen to jot some of this down. He takes his job seriously, it's not too much effort to make that visible.]
Cordial. [That sticks out, as much as it the idea before it. Good God in heaven, how many of these types are out there?] Rude? You'd say he...preys on those who constitute as rude or simply cold to him, and...how does he turn them into dangers? Is it a power he's got here, some sort of. Influence?
No, not rude. Cold or some amount of hostility but toward each other rather than him. I do not think it is what you would call a power rather than simply being good at telling lies and weaving just enough truth in his lies that they seem true.
[The frown that crosses his face, momentary it might be, should give away the game that Will both knows exactly what he's talking about (or in the same ballpark) and isn't looking forward to how it has to be handled. Beautiful redheaded sir, why must you bring him this terrible news?]
Got it. [He scribbles again, though that particular bit of wording won't ever see the light of day to anyone else. Fuck everything.] Any idea what powers he does have, though?
[Maedhros' eyes are sharp enough to catch that look, brief as it is. He would rather not have to bring such news himself.]
Assuming nothing changed when he was brought here, he has what you would call magic. He is one of the Valar who shaped my world. [Shaped, not made. There is an important difference.] I do not understand exactly how he did so but I know he bred the dragons, orcs, and trolls of my home as his armies.
[What. Well, okay. To be fair, Will did move in with a vampire wolf woman shortly after he got here...dragons, orcs, trolls. Why not? Will comes from a world where absolutely none of that exists, but he's been here a while. Shock and disbelief at worlds having what his never did has worn off, and he approaches it like they're talking about extremely dangerous cattle instead of, well. Dragons, orcs, and trolls.]
He bred all that with his magic, or something else? Do you believe there's a chance he could breed those here, too?
Thank you for getting in touch with me. [He fiddles with the pen for a second, tasting his words before he spits them out.] Do you want your name to go along with this, or would you like me to put you down as anonymous? Whichever one you decide to go with, there won't be any difference in how seriously this is taken.
[Well, okay then. That makes it easier. Unfortunate as that is, Will manages a somewhat human smile and scribbles down the name as it appears on the communicator. Holy God, how does one pronounce that? Hell if he knows, but he's not one to judge by names.
...unfortunately...]
All right. [It's about his comfort, not Will's. But it's nice that there's someone out there who isn't overly fussy about the police having their name.] Anything else you wanted to add or talk about while we're here?
I hope so, too. Thank you again for contacting me about this.
[Not that he dislikes his job (it's okay, here), but when it involves certain types of people, well. It's best for everyone if they don't come up too much, isn't it? Especially people they've put through some sort of hell.]
