None of this was her doing, none of this is really something to keep after a direct question. It's not like what her father had her do. Despite the sinking feeling that there has to be one, she can't think of any actual consequence to telling, even if he doesn't believe her. Other than having to think about it, than showing her own stupidity in trusting Hannibal so much. Maybe making him feel guilty, for how it ended up after she ran from him.
