[Because April was sad one day so Will bought her hamsters. This was the most rational and romantic thing to do, obviously.

Dumb. Mike considers his death dumb, just a step above falling down the stairs or passing out in the bathtub. For a man who made his last act one of the most anticlimactic murder/suicides he could think of, that gets at him. Under his skin. Will hadn't minded dying in ways that people could look at and go "okay?" And he doesn't consider that sort of betrayal dumb at all.

He's been on both sides of it.

Will glances at the hamster after Mike does, worries his bottom lip between his teeth a few seconds after Mike finishes, and nods his head once.

Then he goes to the fridge and withdraws a nice beer, pulling out a bottle opener from the drawer next to it. Not gas station or convenience store beer, something a step up. Didn't cost an arm and a leg but it ain't cheap shit.

The lid pops up in a fluid, polished movement. Will has opened beer bottles before.

Without asking or any hesitation, he extends that bottle directly to Mike.

Drink to his death, drink to the truth coming out, doesn't matter.

[And true to his word, Edgeworth is there quickly, and he waits patiently in the car while he waits for Will to step out. The radio is still on the same station it was the last time they met face to face, but this time it's playing another member of the Rat Pack.]

[And step out he does, like he's a MAN ON A MISSION. Which, really, getting a cup of Joe and a bite to eat is his ideal mission. No one dies (hopefully) and no one loses their mind (except for harried waitstaff, perhaps) and rumbly tummies are filled. There's nothing except gain to be had here, it's the perfect quest!

Will nods in acknowledgement as he opens the door, grabbing the seatbelt the moment his ass is planted. The song earns a chuckle, a smile, Will finding Miles' consistency endearing and not in an "aw you old man" way. Will has no leg to stand on with that one, he knows it.]

Evening. Just so you're aware, I'm the only one at the house right now, so...don't have a curfew.
